Rod Abbott - Vice President 

Rod joined the Committee in 2016 accepting the position of Vice President in 2017.

Rod trained as an agronomist, working across Victoria, South Australia and parts of NSW in both agronomy and business advisory roles, before finally settling in Korumburra in 1993.

Establishing a fertiliser services business in town and providing services to local farmers for the past 27 years.

Additional to running the business Rod was active in agricultural and fertiliser industry politics, including 10 years as National President and Directorships on 3 National Industry bodies, over the last 25 years.

A strong commitment to community service through Apex, Schools, Scouts, various community organisations and Rotary as a partner.

Together with his wife Mardi, Rod has 3 adult children and once they moved out of home, has enjoyed the freedom and opportunity to travel, both within Australia and overseas.

In his spare time Rod fattens beef cattle on two properties at Korumburra and Loch.

Rod also represents Carinya as the Chairman of Grace (Gippsland Regional Aged Care Enterprise ) a local network company, set up between Carinya, Woorayl and Prom Country aged care facilities to encourage information sharing and improve purchasing power for all of its members.
