Michelle Denman- Quality & Culture Manager

Michelle is the Quality & Culture Manager and has been with Carinya in various roles since December 2016.
She initially undertook a position as a Registered Nurse and has previously been part of the management team.
Michelle has worked in the healthcare industry for over 20 years, commencing her career in aged care in 1999 as a Personal Care Assistant when she lived in England. 
Upon arriving in Australia in 2003, Michelle began her journey of lifelong learning. 
Commencing study with a Certificate III in Aged Care, completing a Bachelor of Nursing and finally a Master in Nursing, focusing on education, older adults and palliative care.  Michelle continues to study and is currently undertaking an Honours project with Monash University with a focus on dementia care.


Prior to Carinya, Michelle has worked as a Registered Nurse in various areas of health and developed a keen interest in education.  Michelle worked as a Facilitator at Dementia in the Gippsland region, it was here Michelle developed a love and passion for dementia care, providing dementia education to staff in residential aged care facilities and members of the general community. 

Michelle is excited to be working at Carinya in this new role which brings a strong focus on quality care, continuous improvement and dementia care.  Michelle is interested in supporting the rights, interests and needs of residents at Carinya, respecting their right to freedom of choice, privacy and dignity.  Furthermore, encouraging a culture where residents are engaged in a life that is meaningful and purposeful.  Michelle is a ‘professional’ but her work at Carinya is ‘personal’, encompassing Carinya values as they align with her own.
