Accommodation & Care
Carinya offers both permanent and respite accommodation providing a safe, caring and supportive homelike environment, encouraging residents to be as independent as they are able. Our staff are committed to the highest standard of care with every endeavor made to meet the physical, physiological, cultural, social and spiritual needs of the residents as well as their individual requirements.
Permanent Care General Information
Permanent accommodation is available for 41 residents with staff providing 24 hour supported care.

All residents have their own room with ensuite bathroom. A bed, bedside table and linen are provided for you. Residents are encouraged to furnish their own rooms if they wish.

All meals are included, as is laundering of clothes and cleaning of room.

A telephone connection is available for your use.

Medications can be arranged to be administered by our staff via a Webster Pack.

Korumburra Newsagency delivers our newspapers and/or magazines, you may organise to have this service.

Doctors, Podiatrists, Physiotherapists, Pharmacist and other allied health professionals attend Carinya on a regular basis and are available for bookings.

Hairdressers are available for appointments.

Our Lifestyle & Wellbeing program offers outings, entertainment, bingo, games and motivational activities.

Respite General Information
Carinya Lodge Respite is a short temporary stay usually around 2-3 weeks. Respite is designed to provide short-term care allowing the primary carer(s) to have a break. It can be used to coincide with planned holidays or for emergency situations.
Respite rooms are a single room with an ensuite for your private use. Rooms include a bed, bedside table, built in wardrobe, chair, small table and remote control digital television. All meals are provided and any special dietary requirements can be catered for. Care staff are available 24 hours a day to assist where required. Laundry and cleaning services are also included. We recommend to have all your clothing labelled and labels can be ordered through administration. Carinya has an activities and lifestyle program that all residents are welcome to participate in. The program includes exercises, outings, games, bingo, music, happy hour, singing, entertainment and much more.
Should you wish to book in for Respite, firstly you need to have a current assessment from the Aged Care Assessment Service. Talk to your local GP and they will refer you to the local Aged Care Assessment Team, or alternatively you can call their office direct on 1800 242 696. Once you have a current assessment, call Carinya to make an appointment to visit us and/or make a booking.
